Relationship Between Law Morality and Ethics- MyAssignmenthelp.com

Question: Discuss about theRelationship Between Law Morality and Ethics for Social. Answer: Law is a set of rules and regulation put in place by social or government institutions whose aim is to regulate behavior. Ethics on the other side is a branch of philosophy aimed at structuring, protecting and recommending concepts of right and wrong behavior. Practically ethics investigates the question of morality by defining whats good or whats evil. Morality simply is the ability to differentiate between actions or decisions that are perceived to be good or bad. This paper seeks to explain the relationship between laws, morality, and ethics as well as how a person can determine what ethical behavior is and what is not without using the law as the test (Vaughn, 2015) The law defines ethics but fails to define morality. It defines ethically whats correct i.e. someone who acts per the states law is perceived as ethical but does not define morality since its a personal choice. For an individual to determine whats ethical and whats not without pegging reference to the set rules and regulations at times is not easy. This is because most individual actions are liable to judgment by the society. Before one engages in any activity, they ought to consider the perspective of the receiver of their actions. Will it be accepted by the people positively or its bound to cause problems with the people around them? Will it increase their happiness and decrease their misery? Ethical behavior also pertains equality and fairness, if one is fair in the distribution of economic and social benefits they are said to be ethical, unlike those who are unfair in their dealings (Jacob, et al, 2016). In conclusion, ethics and morals dictate personal behavior. The way one carries about their personal obligations as well as relate with those around them will determine their level of morality and ethics. References Vaughn, L. (2015).
